Now that spring is coming, it is the best season to vaccinate dogs, so what are the precautions for dogs to be vaccinated? Parents must know something before the injection to better take care of their pets.
Precautions before injection
In general, injections are not dangerous for dogs, but injections can be life-threatening when they are sick.
1. For dogs with poor constitution and malnutrition, it is best to improve their constitution first, strengthen nutrition, and then vaccinate until they are healthy.
2. Vaccinations cannot be given when they are sick. When vaccinated, the disease may be aggravated by the vaccine reaction, and the vaccine may not have a good effect.
3. Those who have been in contact with sick dogs before injection need to be fully checked and injected.
4. Injecting pregnant female dogs may cause miscarriage and is absolutely prohibited. Animals have very high antibodies in their bodies when they are pregnant, and generally do not transmit diseases, and do not need injections.
5. Dogs within half a month of postpartum are not suitable for vaccination.
6. Dogs whose wounds have not healed are not suitable for vaccination.
Precautions after injection
1. It is normal for dogs to experience elevated body temperature, mental depression, decreased appetite, pain and other problems after injection. Usually about 2 hours will be fine.
2. If there is itching all over the body and facial swelling, it is allergic, and you should go to the hospital for an injection of desensitization needles immediately.
3. There are also some dogs who get sick within a few days to ten days after vaccination. This is mainly due to the following two situations:
a. In the incubation period, the clinical symptoms have not yet appeared
bAfter the vaccination and before the vaccine takes effect (because the effect of the antibody reaches the peak area more than ten days after the vaccination, at this stage, the dog is in an inactive state. resistance state) is infected with the virus and develops the disease. At this time, the disease will be very serious, and it should be sent to the hospital for treatment immediately.
4. Remember that it is strictly forbidden to bathe the dog within 10 days after vaccination to prevent the body’s resistance from being reduced.
Note for parents: Vaccines should be taken out of the refrigerator before injections in the hospital, and nurses should show vaccines and caps (no needles or traces of past), beware of hospital fraud.
