What causes the parrot fish to tilt its body

The reason why the parrot fish is tilted:

1. Water temperature factor

The parrot fish will tilt its body and sink to the bottom or swim, which may be the fish tank

Caused by too low water temperature. If the temperature in which the parrot fish grows is too low, their immunity will decline, resulting in the phenomenon of leaning to the bottom or swimming slowly.

Solution: At this time, the pet owner should use a heating rod to increase the water temperature to 30 ℃ first, and maintain the temperature constant. After the parrot fish returns to normal state (about a week), adjust and maintain the water temperature between 25-28°C.

2. The parrot fish swim bladder is out of balance

If the parrot fish tilts its body and the pet owner manually helps it come back to no avail, then there is a high probability Is the parrot swim bladder imbalance. This is usually because the nutrient content of the feed fed to the parrot fish is too high, which leads to the accumulation of fat in the parrot fish, thereby compressing the swim bladder, and finally affecting the balance function of the parrot fish.

Solution: If this is the case, the pet owner should increase the water temperature of the fish tank in time to speed up the metabolism of the parrot fish, thereby effectively alleviating the symptoms of fish bladder imbalance; and the pet owner has to change Feeding methods to avoid fat accumulation in parrot fish.

3. Enteritis Caused by enteritis. Generally, it is because the food fed by the owner is not clean or they are too full, resulting in food accumulation in the body and not excreted in time. After a long time, bacteria will breed and infect the intestinal tract and cause enteritis.

Solution: The pet owner needs to replace the water in the fish tank in time, and then sprinkle an appropriate amount of oxytetracycline or gentamicin in the new water to perform medicated bath treatment on the parrot fish; Add vitamins to the water to improve the resistance of the parrot fish. After the parrot fish’s condition improves, the symptoms of the crooked body will gradually disappear.

Warm reminder: Parrot fish will appear crooked, most of which are caused by the water temperature or water quality of the fish tank, so pet owners should change the water quality frequently (Change every three days), and pay more attention to whether the water temperature is suitable for the growth of parrot fish.
