often have a lot of bloodshot eyes. This condition is mostly caused by chronic insufficiency of tears in dogs, dryness and inflammation of the cornea or conjunctiva. In fact, in addition to moistening the cornea and flushing foreign bodies out of the eyes, the dog’s tears also contain enzymes and antibodies, which can prevent some pathogens from entering and cause infection. Therefore, if a dog’s eyeball loses the infiltration and protection of tears, its cornea will easily become thickened or uneven, and even ulcers or fibrosis may occur. In severe cases, the dog may also become blind.
