What’s the matter with parrot fish’s eyes with albuginea

Causes and symptoms of blindfolded parrot fish

Reason: Parrot fish will get blindfolded, usually because the water quality of the fish tank

is poor or the parrot fish’s eyes are injured due to fights, collisions, etc., and then they are blindfolded by the invasion of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Vibrio in the water; The second is that there is too much nitrogen in the water in the fish tank, and the nitrogen enters the body of the parrot fish, which causes the parrot fish to appear blindfolded.

In addition, if the parrot fish suffers from white spot disease, it may also cause a white membrane to appear on its eyes.

Symptoms: In the early stage of blindfolded parrot fish, a layer of white fog will appear in the eyes, and the breeder can see that there is a layer of white film in its eyes, and the eyeballs of parrot fish become cloudy ; At the end of the blindfold, the parrot fish’s eyes will become swollen and accompanied by a white flocculent appearance.

How to treat parrot fish blindfolded?

If the parrot fish only has a layer of white fog on the surface of the eyeball, it is most likely caused by poor water quality. The breeder needs to replace the water quality of the fish tank immediately (replace one-third); and use a heating rod to increase the water temperature to 30 ° C for three to four days. If the parrot fish’s condition improves, change to a quarter of the water every 3 days until the parrot fish eyes fully recover. Note: When changing the water, pay attention to control the water temperature difference (within 2 ℃) to avoid the large difference in water temperature and cause other abnormal symptoms of parrot fish.

If there is white fog on the surface and center of the eyeball of parrot fish, and white flocculent material appears in the eye, it should be caused by infection after eye injury. In addition to changing the water, increasing the water temperature, and taking a medicated bath with salt, the breeders also need to use antibiotics, yellow powder, penicillin, Daqingmycin and other drugs for treatment. During this period, the breeder should pay attention to the improvement of the symptoms of the parrot fish and decide whether to continue adding medicine. If the parrot fish symptoms gradually improve, the medication can be gradually reduced.

If the parrot fish has albuginea caused by white spot disease, you need to change the water for the parrot fish first, take a salt bath and increase the water temperature to 30°C, stop feeding the parrot fish 1~ For 2 days, at the same time, cover the Arowana with the medicine for white spot disease. When the white spot disease of the parrot fish improves, the albuginea in the eyes will disappear.
