Precautions for raising parrot fish
1, Keep the water clean: Parrot fish have high requirements on water quality, and they like clean and fresh water. If the water quality or environment of parrot fish is too poor, it can cause them to contract diseases or other discomfort. Therefore, the breeder should replace the water quality of the fish tank
every three to five days.
2. Keep the water temperature constant: Because parrot fish are tropical fish species, they like a slightly higher water temperature environment. Therefore, when raising parrot fish, a heating rod should be used to keep the water temperature in a stable state (between 25-30 °C); and when changing the water, the temperature difference of the water should not exceed 2 °C, otherwise the parrot fish will have a stress response. .
3. Feeding frequency: Parrot fish are gluttonous and have a very mixed diet. They will eat almost anything they feed. But the breeder also needs to feed the parrot fish according to the growth stage of the parrot fish. Under normal circumstances, parrot fish in juveniles need to be fed 2-3 times a day, and when they become adults, they can be fed 1-2 times a day
4. Quiet environment: Although parrot fish are fierce in character, they have little courage and are easily frightened. So breeders need to place them in a relatively quiet place in the room so they can grow healthily.
5. Sufficient light: Although the parrot fish is kept indoors, it is still necessary to provide the parrot fish with a certain amount of light time, because the sun light is helpful for the parrot fish to synthesize pigment, which can make the parrot fish look It is more shiny, but 2-3 hours of light time per day is enough, not too long.
6. Sufficient oxygen: Because parrot fish are hybrid fish, because their natural respiratory system has only half gills, and the control of water flow is not good, they need oxygen more than ordinary fish, so Breeders should clean up all kinds of dirt in the fish tank in time to keep the parrot fish with enough oxygen to survive; or install an oxygen pump in the fish tank to ensure sufficient oxygen in the water they live in.
