Common causes of Arowana headstands:
1. Fish dart disorders:
The phenomenon that the silver arowana appears upside down may be that its fish darts are out of tune. This is generally caused by improper feeding by the breeder, which leads to indigestion of the silver dragon fish and causes intestinal indigestion. blockage, thereby causing the silver dragon fish to lose its balance. Or the food they are fed is too nutritious, which will lead to the accumulation of fat in them, which will press on the swim bladder. At this time, the breeder can appropriately lower the water level of the fish tank
, increase the water temperature of the fish tank, and then fix the silver arowana with a splint. Generally, it will return to normal after a period of time.
2. Water quality and temperature factors
Because silver arowana is very sensitive to water temperature difference, if the breeder does not pay attention when changing the water, let The water temperature difference exceeds 2°C or the temperature difference between morning and evening is too large, which will cause them to stand upside down; or the water quality in the fish tank is too poor and turbid, which will also cause the silver arowana to stand upside down. Therefore, the breeder should control the water temperature of the fish tank, try to keep the temperature difference within 2 °C when changing the water, and change the water in the fish tank on time, but it is not necessary to replace all of it, just replace one third of it.
3. The silver dragon fish is hypoxic
The situation where the silver dragon fish is upside down may also be due to lack of oxygen. Fish have a high demand for oxygen. If the oxygen supply is insufficient, they will appear head down. Or the stocking density is too high, which will also cause the silver arowana to suffer from hypoxia. Therefore, breeders need to ensure that the activity space of silver arowana is large enough, that is, the fish tank is large enough, or an oxygen pump is installed in the fish tank, which can not only increase the dissolved oxygen, but also strengthen the filtration of water quality to ensure sufficient oxygen in the fish tank. Under normal circumstances, silver arowana can return to normal in about 2 days.
