1. The color of the peeling and rotten skin is different

The peeling of the turtle is usually translucent; while the rotten skin is mostly dark yellow or white.

2. The texture of peeling and rotten skin is different

The texture of tortoise peeling and rotten skin is different. It’s like a sticky fester to the touch.

3. The area and shape of peeling and rotten skin are different

Under normal circumstances, turtle peeling is a complete piece of peeling off, and the peeled skin will clearly retain the turtle itself texture; rot skin is usually an indistinct piece.   

 4. The rotten skin is usually connected to the ulcerated skin

Turtle peeling refers to the tortoise peeling off the old epidermis and exposing the new skin. This process is the growth of the tortoise Manifestation; and rot skin is a common disease of turtles.  

6. Different treatment methods

When the tortoise is peeling, there is no need to intervene, just let the skin of the tortoise fall off by itself. If you forcibly tear off the skin that the turtle is about to shed, it will easily cause damage to its new skin. If the turtle has rotten skin and the symptoms are mild, it is necessary to disinfect the part with the rotten skin, and then dry the turtle for 30 minutes. The same operation is continued for 3 to 4 days, and the affected area can be slowly healed.
