runny nose is not necessarily a cold.

Symptoms of dog cold and runny nose

1. The eyes are bloodshot and tears flow out.
2. Poor mental state and loss of appetite.
3. Sudden increase of eye mucus, runny nose.
4. Coughing, difficulty eating, as if severe discomfort in pharynx and throat.
5. Body temperature rises. Under normal circumstances, adult dogs should be between 36.5 and 38.5 degrees, and puppies are usually around 37 to 39 degrees Celsius. Generally reaching and exceeding 39.5 degrees is a fever. First shake the thermometer below 36°C, apply some water (to avoid dryness), gently rotate and insert it into the dog’s anus (about 3 cm), measure for about 3-5 minutes, take it out and wipe it with a paper towel immediately before checking.

How to deal with a dog’s cold and runny nose

1. First of all, keep the dog warm and keep out the cold. Add warm blankets and cushions to the kennel. Face the kennel to the air outlet and move it to a place where there is no wind.
2. Give dogs special cold medicines for pets, such as Gankeling, to relieve cough, runny nose, fever and other symptoms caused by dogs with colds, and help dogs recover as soon as possible.
3. Dogs have a cold and are in a weak period, so they need to increase their nutritional intake. Feed some fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, such as apples, pears, etc., and they can also be fed meat with high protein content. Helps improve the dog’s resistance.
4. Feed the dog an appropriate amount of ginger soup to dispel the cold. Ginger soup also has the effect of dispelling the cold on the dog. Maybe the dog is not willing to drink it. You can use a syringe (throw away the needle part) to deliver it. There are certain side effects, and it can only be used appropriately when catching cold.
