I. Prevention of infectious rhinitis in rabbits
1. Do a good job in introducing breeding rabbits. When introducing breeding, the owner should be careful not to go to areas with high incidence of breeding. When introducing new breeding rabbits, they can observe more on their rabbit population and observe whether there are rabbits with dirty hair or sneezing in the rabbit farm. If there are rabbits in the rabbit farm showing obvious symptoms of rhinitis, it is best not to introduce breeding in the rabbit farm. The newly introduced breeding rabbits need to be isolated for 1 month. If there is no abnormality, they will be mixed together. If there are sick rabbits, they should be resolutely eliminated. If there is a diseased case in your own rabbit farm, you need to isolate the affected rabbit as soon as possible, and treat or eliminate it as the case may be to purify the rabbit population.
2. Do a good job in management. Reduce the stocking density of the rabbit house, and do a good job in the ventilation management of the rabbit house. If necessary, install an exhaust fan in the rabbit house to assist ventilation. In autumn, winter and early spring, the rabbits should be protected from cold and heat in time, especially at night, to reduce the temperature difference between day and night. Clean up the feces and rabbit hair in the rabbit house in time, maintain ventilation, reduce toxic and harmful gases and dust in the rabbit house, and regularly clean and disinfect the rabbit house to eliminate pathogenic bacteria in the environment to reduce the incidence of rabbit rhinitis .
3. Do a good job in feeding management. The rabbit’s diet should be in a reasonable proportion, and pay attention to the supplementation of nutrients such as minerals, trace elements and vitamins. The rabbit can be fed an appropriate amount of green and juicy feed. Only when the rabbit has a comprehensive and sufficient nutritional intake, its disease resistance can be improved and the occurrence of diseases can be reduced. In addition, the owner must avoid the use of moldy raw materials when feeding the rabbits with processed pelleted feed, and the pellets must be intact to avoid the feed dust irritating the rabbit’s respiratory tract.
4. Do a good job in epidemic prevention and control. The young rabbits need to be injected with Babo double vaccine when they are one month old, and the seedlings should be injected with Babo double vaccine again when they are 6 months old. Breeding rabbits need to strengthen Babo double vaccine every 5 months.
2. Treatment of rabbit infectious rhinitis
1. Use penicillin (dose: 20,000~4 10,000 units/kg body weight), streptomycin (dose: 10,000-20,000 units/kg body weight), 2-3ml Houttuynia cordata injection, etc. were mixed intramuscularly to the sick rabbits, twice a day, for 3 consecutive days .
2. Use kanamycin (dose: 10000 ~ 20000 units/kg body weight), intramuscularly injected twice a day for 3 consecutive days.
3. For the treatment of sick rabbits with more serious condition, gentamicin can be used for treatment according to body weight (dose: 10,000~20,000 units/kg body weight), intramuscular injection twice a day, and more at the same time. Use enrofloxacin intranasally.
4. For infection of the whole group, it can be treated with enrofloxacin or ciprofloxacin mixed with water. During the period, do a good job in the management of ventilation and disinfection of the rabbit house.
The above is our sharing of the prevention and treatment methods of rabbit infectious rhinitis, I hope it can help everyone!
