Infection Channels and Prevention Methods of Canine Infectious Hepatitis

I. Infection channels of dog infectious hepatitis

Sick dogs and recovered but carrying Dogs with canine infectious hepatitis virus can excrete the virus by secreting various secretions and excretions, and the virus has a strong ability to survive in the environment, and can survive on dog excrement or secretions for 6 to 9 months. For a long time, sick dogs and newly recovered dogs are the main sources of infection of this disease. Puppies are a susceptible group for the disease, which is primarily infected through the digestive tract. In addition, once a pregnant dog is accidentally infected with the virus, it will also infect the fetus through the placenta, resulting in fetal death. The virus can be transmitted by ectoparasites, and cases of respiratory hepatitis are mainly transmitted through the respiratory tract.

Second, the prevention method of canine infectious hepatitis

1 . At present, vaccinating dogs is the fundamental way to prevent and treat the disease. Generally, the puppies can be vaccinated within 45 days after birth if they are allowed in all aspects of their body and are not restricted by other conditions. A total of three injections and four injections are required. Combined (or five or six) vaccines, one injection every 15-21 days, and then a booster immunization every year. Puppies under the age of 45 days need the careful care of their owners for a long time. At this time, the puppies are flowers in the greenhouse and are fragile. They need to wait until their physical fitness reaches the standard before they are vaccinated under the guidance of professional veterinarians.

2. The owner should always pay attention to the cleanliness of the dog’s living environment, and regularly disinfect the kennel and dog supplies with 10% to 20% bleaching powder solution or 2% to 4% caustic soda water. Through high-temperature disinfection, dog supplies are often exposed to the sun to sterilize.

3. Reasonably match the dog’s diet to keep the dog’s nutritional balance. Vitamin C is an indispensable element to improve the dog’s own immunity, so it also needs to be supplemented reasonably.

4. Completely isolate sick dogs to prevent healthy dogs from inadvertently contacting sick dogs or dogs that have been cured for less than 9 months and their touched objects, causing infection. If the owner’s family has ever had a case of a dog dying from infectious hepatitis, wait at least 1 year before accepting a new dog.

Warm reminder: If the owner chooses to use caustic soda for disinfection, he must take precautions and wear gloves to prevent injury.
