Three, diagnostic points of dog sepsis
1. Puppy disease After death, the dog will have fever, dehydration, loss of appetite, and rapid breathing before death; if the dog is seriously ill, there will be shock, oliguria, lethargy, drop in body temperature, and bleeding in the oral mucosa and conjunctiva.
2. Adult dogs have body temperature over 40℃, no appetite and shortness of breath.
3. Severely ill dogs will eventually die from collapse or shock due to improper or untimely treatment. Blood pressure dropped significantly. Blood culture was positive.
IV. Treatment of dog sepsis
1. Intravenous supplementation of low molecular weight dextran 10~20ml/ kg body weight, to prevent coagulation and blood volume expansion, once a day.
2. Supplement with lactated Ringer’s solution, sodium bicarbonate, 5% glucose solution.
3. When the dog is in shock, dexamethasone 0.4~0.6mg/kg should be administered intravenously to the dog.
4. Intravenous or skin injection of heparin 40~80 units/kg body weight.
5. Give the dog an adequate injection of non-allergic antibiotics on time. Kanamycin sulfate 20mg/kg or amikacin 80mg/kg has a certain effect.
