Cat gets feline distemper after first vaccination

The cause of feline distemper infection after the first dose of vaccine mainly considers pre-immunization infection and post-immunization infection. Since feline petitosis does not develop immediately after infection, but has a long incubation period, it may happen just after the first vaccination.

Feline distemper is also known as feline panleukopenia. The main clinical manifestations are vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, blood in the stool and a significant decrease in the number of white blood cells. Due to the continuous decrease in the number of white blood cells, the anti-infection ability of the sick cat is reduced, and it is very likely that secondary bacteremia and endotoxemia will occur.
