How to choose good cat food

1. Protein.

Protein is the content of animal protein. Generally, the protein content of low-end cat food is generally below 28%, mid-end 28%-32%, and high-end 32%-42%. For growing and growing cats, less than 30% protein cannot meet their growth needs; for adult cats, daily normal maintenance needs should be around 25%.

2. Fat.

As long as your owner is not a fat cat and you still want it to be muscular, it is recommended that you pay attention to the fat content when buying cat food. Although fat accounts for the proportion of ingredients, you can’t eat too much fat. The normal standard is 14% to 20%.

3. Crude fiber.

Because the cat’s stomach is more sensitive to crude fiber, it is difficult to digest crude fiber. If the cat’s stomach is delicate, pay more attention to this parameter when choosing cat food. Generally, the crude fiber of high-end cat food is generally less than 3.5%, also called hypoallergenic cat food. The crude fiber of mid-range cat food is generally 4%-5%. Low-end cat food is generally between 6%-7%. In fact, it can basically be included in the category of garbage cat food.

4. Coarse ash content.

Coarse ash is the residue left after all the organic matter in the feed sample is oxidized in a high temperature furnace at 550-600℃, mainly inorganic matter such as mineral oxides or salts, and sometimes also contains a small amount of sediment .

In addition, coarse ash is affected by production processes and additives.

For example, the production process has less damage to nutrients, which will reduce the proportion of crude ash. For example, adding a large amount of non-edible substances such as inducers will also increase the crude ash. In short, as a minimum standard, if the crude ash content exceeds 10%, do not choose it.

5. Other nutrients.

Although cats are carnivores, in addition to animal protein, high-quality cat food should also add some nutrients. For example: vitamins, taurine, minerals, etc.
