Causes of black yarn on the body of parrotfish

1. Caused by water quality and water temperature: Everyone knows that parrot fish are tropical fish, so they prefer to grow in a high temperature environment, so if the water temperature in the fish tank

is too low or the water temperature is not paid attention to when changing the water, the deviation of the water temperature is too large, then It will irritate the parrot fish, causing them to have black gauze on their bodies; or if the owner does not replace the water quality of the fish tank on time, the parrot fish will also appear black gauze and become lighter in color.

2. Frightened: The black gauze on the parrotfish body may also be caused by a stress response when frightened. Because parrot fish are relatively timid, as long as the outside world is a little louder or the lights are suddenly turned on, they will be frightened. If the parrot fish is too frightened, the black gauze or the body will fade.

3. Infection with black spot disease: If the parrot fish has black spot disease, black gauze will also appear on the body. Because the initial symptoms of black spot disease in parrot fish are black gauze, black spots and black lines on the body. This is caused by bacterial infection in the water, because the bacteria can live on the parrot fish eggs and body wounds.

How to deal with black yarn on the body of parrot fish?

If it is caused by the water quality and water temperature, the owner should try his best to control the water temperature between 25 and 28°C during the daily and water changing process, and the temperature difference during water changing also needs to be controlled within 2 degrees. Note: Change one third each time. If the owner is not at ease, you can add some coarse salt to the fish tank, and the parrot fish will return to normal skin color in a few days.

If the parrot fish is made of black gauze because of the stress response, the owner can change the fish tank to a relatively quiet and dark place in the room. If there is no way to transfer the fish tank, then cover the fish tank. Layer a thick cloth to make the parrot fish feel safe, and then wait for the parrot fish to recover on its own.

If the parrot fish suffers from black spot disease, the owner can treat it by salt water immersion and antibiotics. Method: use 2-3% salt water immersion, once a day, 5- 10 minutes is enough, and the dark spots will fade or disappear after continuous use for several days; if the condition of the parrot fish is more serious, it can be treated by adding 0.3% malachite green solution.
