Traditional transfusion therapy for mastitis in female cats
There are many factors in the occurrence of mastitis in female cats, and many times it has a lot to do with the sanitation of the cattery. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job in environmental sanitation and clear cat litter in time.
Prepare a bucket of hot water and wipe the breast of the female cat twice a day for three consecutive days.
Give infusion to the female cat, the main drugs for infusion are:
The first bottle: lincomycin+Vcl+oxytocin+normal saline
Two bottles: Amoxicillin + Houttuynia cordata + 5% glucose
Note: Try to squeeze as much milk as possible during infusion, and the swelling will start to decrease after about 24 hours of infusion.
Female cat mastitis adopts root injection method
We prepare 6ml unilateral Houttuynia cordata for each gram of ceftiofur, and then prepare 0.3ml for each breast Injection dose, or injection of procaine penicillin at each point. (The cephalosporin and penicillin here are both long-acting drugs.)
Choose a disposable syringe with a long and thin needle, and be careful not to choose a needle that is too thick to avoid damage. Female cat mammary glands.
When injecting, it is generally selected at the milk root of each breast, and then divided into three points in an equilateral triangle for injection, and a drug dose of 0.1ml is injected at each point.
Note: About 30 minutes after the injection of the drug, you can wipe the breast with a warm towel and forcefully express the milk.
4-8 hours after all the operations are completed, the symptoms of mastitis will be relieved. Compared with the above, this treatment plan has the best healing effect and the fastest time. Of course, the relative operation is more difficult .
What needs to be reminded is that before the female cat with mastitis recovers, the feeding amount should be properly controlled, and it is not suitable to feed too much.
Mastitis in female cats can be used to pump milk
Half an hour after injecting oxytocin, use a human breast pump to suck the breasts with mastitis outwards, Three or four times a day, suck out all the excess milk as much as possible to avoid milk storage in the breast, which will improve faster.
It is also possible to transfer bigger and healthier kittens to feed and suck the udder, which has a significant therapeutic effect on mastitis!
However, we still need to pay attention to the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. Milking alone is mainly for prevention and relief, not the main treatment method. Antibiotics and other hormones must be used reasonably for inflammation.
Attention: within seven weeks after giving birth, the breasts of female cats will continue to produce milk due to stimulation. If the excess milk in the breasts is not cleaned up in time, it will lead to mastitis, or Exacerbation of condition in female cat with mastitis.
