Solutions for cats afraid of people

If a cat is calm and friendly with family members with whom he is in common contact, but is afraid of visitors, it is usually because he did not have enough experience meeting new people when he was very young.

How can we help this little cutie get closer to humans? There is a way~

Kitten period:

Let the children see the world more

In the eyes of cats, men, women, adults, and children may all be different species to them.

In short, like human cubs, all “humans” are novel and fresh in their eyes.

So, when the cat is a child, you can let it contact as many people as possible, and after the contact, you can give a small reward.

After getting the reward, the kitten will find that it is something worth trying and will be more willing to do it. As an adult, you may be less afraid of people.

Adult cats:

Change “he” instead of “it”

For adult cats, maybe their character is already formed. Therefore, our focus should be on “people”.

If you have guests in your home, especially those who are particularly interested in cats.

Be sure to “educate” the visitor in advance:

1. Don’t take the initiative to find the cat or run to hug the cat excitedly.

Customers are generally doing what they want to do, and can walk around the room naturally and chat with the host. At the same time, patiently wait for the cat to come forward and interact.

If the cat is still hiding, you can try to lure it with its favorite snacks, and feed it some delicious food in exchange for its favor.

2. Choose the appropriate interaction method and be patient.

If the cat is willing to come out and interact with you, tall humans can choose to squat or sit down to interact with the kitten.

In this way, you will become “smaller” in their eyes.

At the same time, try to keep calmness (don’t “ah ah ah ah it is too cute”) and avoid direct vision contact (for cats, direct view = provocative+attack plan), otherwise, get in hand, get in your hands, get in your hands. The kitten will fly away too!

3. Respect the cat’s temper, and don’t forcefully “retain” it.

Because the cat’s interest and attention span are relatively short. After maybe a few minutes, the cat may lose its playful nature with you and walk away or hide.

At this time, don’t force it to stay, just let it go. Then try to use small snacks, cat sticks and other items to attract cats and try a new interaction.

Respect and understanding

We all know kittens are very cute Creatures, when we see them, we can’t help but want to kiss, hug and hold them high.

But the cat’s own character, we must learn to respect and compromise, don’t ignore the kitten Start,

Not only the cat may be “stressed”, but it may also scratch you and hurt you.
