Summer parrots must know common sense!

How to manage parrots in summer

1. In summer, pathogens such as parasites and bacteria are more active, and the feed is prone to mildew and deterioration under high temperature conditions, so breeders must pay attention to adding less frequently when feeding parrots in summer. Addition, and need to clean the bird’s food and water tanks more frequently, and replace the drinking water in the water tanks in time. In addition, in summer, the owner must add a small amount of demycin in the parrot’s feed, and add a small amount of disinfectant that can purify the water in the parrot’s drinking water.

2. Beware of mosquitoes. The harm caused by mosquitoes to parrots in summer is also worthy of the owner’s attention. The parrot’s mouth, feet, eyes and other places that are not protected by feathers are prone to mosquito bites, resulting in inflammation and swelling of the bitten part of the parrot. In severe cases, it may even be infected with fowl pox. Therefore, in summer, breeders need to pay attention to killing mosquitoes in bird cages. Breeders can use mosquitoes, mites and mites to exterminate mosquitoes in bird cages, but they must pay attention to controlling the amount, and pay attention to carefully read the instructions before taking medicine, and use eye medicine. Alternatively, you can also light mosquito coils outside the cage or use other mosquito repellents to repel mosquitoes in the cage.

3. Beware of blood-sucking insects. Blood-sucking worms like to be active at night. Once they are attached to birds, they feed on the blood of birds, infecting birds with diseases, and even causing the death of parrots in severe cases. This kind of blood-sucking worm likes to lurk in the crevices of the bird’s nest or in the feed tray of the bird’s nest during the day, and comes out at night to suck the blood of the parrot. It appears frequently from March to September. Blood-sucking worms are difficult to remove completely, but breeders can take appropriate precautions for parrots. For example, the owner can mix the bedding of the bird cage with some medicines that repellent and kill the blood-sucking insects. If the parrot is accidentally infected with this parasitic disease during the breeding period, it is recommended that the breeder use some less irritating drugs to clean the bird’s nest.

4. Let the parrots rest during the moulting period. Parrots usually moult from July to August. During the moulting period of parrots, breeders should pay attention to stop letting parrots breed, at the same time pay attention to disinfection of bird cages and aviaries, and clean up the feathers in the rabbit coop in time. Keep the aviary clean to prevent infection of the parrot during moulting.

5. It is also necessary to pay attention to the prevention of parrot heat stroke in summer. Although parrots are not afraid of heat, if the temperature is too high, parrots will also suffer from heat stroke. In summer, you should also pay attention to prevent the temperature in the birdhouse and the birdhouse from being too high, and pay attention to ensure the ventilation of the birdhouse. In a non-ventilated environment, the parrot is very easy to suffer from heat stroke, and may even lead to the death of the parrot. . If the parrot is found to have heatstroke, the breeder can add some Huoxiangzhengqi liquid or vitamin C to its drinking water to help it relieve. If the humidity in the birdhouse is low, the breeder can also change the Huoxiangzhengqi liquid into an appropriate amount of water, and then spray it into the birdhouse, which can also reduce the heat.
