Second, treatment of conjunctivitis in rabbits
To treat conjunctivitis in rabbits, we must first eliminate the cause. The eyes of sick rabbits can be cleaned with a non-irritating disinfecting and astringent eye care solution, such as 2%-3% boric acid solution, 0.01% nitrofurazone solution, etc. After cleaning the eyes of the sick rabbit, use antibacterial and anti-inflammatory eye drops to drop or coat
the eyes of the sick rabbit. The eye drops can be chloramphenicol eye drops, 0.5% chlortetracycline eye drops, 0.5% oxytetracycline eye drops Cream, 10% sodium sulfoacetamide solution, etc., can choose one of them.
If the eye secretions of the sick rabbit are too much, 0.25% zinc sulfate eye drops can be used for symptomatic treatment. For rabbits with corneal cloudy disease, it can be relieved by applying 1% yellow mercuric oxide ointment, or by mixing equal amounts of calomel and glucose powder into the eyes of the sick rabbits. In addition, 1% – 3% procaine hydrochloride solution can be used in the eyes of each sick rabbit to relieve pain in the sick rabbit.
Severely ill rabbits should be treated with systemic antibiotics or sulfonamides at the same time.
In addition, some rabbits suffering from conjunctivitis may be caused by allergies. Rabbits with allergic constitution are prone to allergic reactions due to allergens such as dry climate, dust and hair, and conjunctivitis may be one of them. 3. Prevention of conjunctivitis in rabbits
