This condition is mostly caused by viral secondary bacterial infection.

For mild cases of tortoises

For turtles with moderate colds

2. Put an appropriate amount of gentamicin or oxytetracycline in warm water at about 38℃, and then soak the disease rule in warm water for 30 minutes.
3. Appropriately add some vitamins to the sick turtle, and at the same time let it bask in the sun.
4. During the treatment of tortoise cold, pay attention to keep its feeding temperature at about 30~32℃ and keep it well ventilated.

For tortoises with severe colds
1. Feed amoxicillin to the sick tortoise, and determine the dosage according to the tortoise’s weight. Two consecutive courses of treatment.
2. Add an appropriate amount of electrolytes to bath the sick turtle in warm water around 38°C. Note that the water level of the bath water should be higher than the turtle’s plastron.
3. Supplement the sick turtle with appropriate amount of vitamins and glucose.
