1. The water quality of the fish tank
is unclean: Most of the time, the arowana jumps into the tank simply because the water quality is unclean. In particular, the owner has not changed the water for a long time, cleaned up the feed residues, excrement and other garbage in the fish tank, resulting in the water quality getting worse and worse, and the arowana cannot adapt, and the behavior of jumping out of the tank will occur.
Solution: The main feeder regularly replaces the water quality of the fish tank, usually every 3-5 days, but not all, but only one third; The owner can also install a filter inside the fish tank to slow down the rate of deterioration of the water quality.
2. The water level of the fish tank is too high: the arowana jumping into the tank may also be caused by the water level of the fish tank being too high, causing the lid above the fish tank to drip, and the arowana will mistake it for food when it sees this phenomenon , so as to jump up to catch or hit the tank; it may also be that the upper lid is too tight, causing them to breathe, and they will also jump the tank.
Solution: If this is the case, it is recommended that the owner lower the water level of the fish tank as much as possible, and at least keep a distance of 15 cm between the water surface and the upper cover, which can greatly reduce the arowana jumping into the tank and the possibility of injury.
3. Frightened: Because the nerves of Arowana are very sensitive, if they are suddenly startled, they may also jump out of the tank. Phenomenons, such as: violent turbulence in the water body, the owner suddenly turning on the lights, the sound of tapping the fish tank is too loud, and the sudden approach of a stranger to the fish tank, etc., will frighten the arowana.
Solution: If this is the reason, the owner should control the force of tapping the fish tank when feeding the arowana to avoid frightening the arowana; you can also install a night light on the fish tank, so that It can alleviate the impact of suddenly turning on the lights on arowana.
4. Preying on insects: Because the arowana prefers to wander on the upper layer of the water surface, and aiming at the timing, it jumps out of the water surface with its powerful explosive force to prey on the prey that flies over the water surface. Especially in summer, when there are more mosquitoes, the phenomenon of arowana jumping into the tank will be more frequent.
Solution: The owner can put a layer of opaque stickers on the outside of the tank cover, and usually cover the fish tank with the cover. Or change the placement of the fish tank to avoid places where there will be a lot of mosquitoes, so that the number of times the arowana jumps into the tank will be reduced.
