Parents should regularly disinfect and clean the vulva and perineum of the dog mother. Lochia contains a lot of blood and other substances that are easy for bacteria to grow, so it will cause ascending infection, so it should be wiped clean in time. Clinically, 0.1% potassium permanganate water is often used as a cleaning solution because it has strong oxidation and is non-irritating.
In addition, for the postpartum care of the dog, after the bitch gives birth, she should give the bitch some glucose water, milk and light salt water. 1-2 days after delivery, adequate drinking water and a small amount of meat should be provided, and the amount of meat should be gradually increased after 3-4 days. In 5-6 days, in addition to increasing meat, the number of meals per day can be increased to 3-4 times a day, and clean drinking water has been maintained; pay attention to the supplement of vitamins and trace elements, and exercise appropriately. It is normal for some dogs to eat little food within 1-3 days after delivery, but it should be distinguished from the illness at this time. It is also common to eat less food within 1-3 days.
