Dermatomycosis is a disease of animals in which a fungal infection of the skin results in a morbid skin reaction. Common dermatophytes such as Trichoderma and Microsporum gypsum are common.
Symptoms:
When animal skin immunity is weakened, ringworm often invades the surface layer of the animal’s epidermis or inside the hair shaft, resulting in round or Oval hair loss, dandruff, erythema (protruding or not protruding from the skin surface), papules, seborrhea, nodular pustules, etc.
Malassezia often occurs in the skin with strong oil secretion, causing intense itching of the skin, melanosis, and skin pigmentation.
Treatment:
Traditional treatment using topical sprays.
A combination of medicated baths, oral antifungals, and skin nutritional supplements is now preferred.
The specific treatment methods and prognosis vary according to different fungal species.
Prevention:
Daily oral or topical skin nutrition to protect animals with poor skin resistance;
Try to avoid Or reduce exposure to sick animals.
Note:
There is more than one manifestation of fungal skin diseases, which are sometimes easily confused with other diseases. Diagnosis should be made before treatment so as not to harm animal health due to improper treatment.
