What vaccines do cats need to get vaccinated?

Kittens, like humans, acquire “maternally derived antibodies” through breast milk when they are young, and these antibodies gradually disappear after the kitten is weaned. In order to protect kittens from the virus, we need to vaccinate kittens after 8 weeks of age to increase their resistance.

Cats need to be vaccinated with cat triples

Usually cats have three types (feline distemper, feline nasal branch, feline calicis disease) which are the most common and highly dangerous to cats sick. Therefore, vaccines against these three viruses are also called core vaccines, and they are also vaccines that must be vaccinated. When the cat is two months old, the cat can be injected with the cat triple vaccine, usually 15 to 20 days after the first injection, a second injection is needed to strengthen it.

Disease manifestations of triple prophylaxis in cats

1. Cat distemper: The main symptoms of cat distemper are diarrhea, vomiting, fever, anorexia or not eating. If a cat has cat distemper, the survival rate of juveniles is only about 50%.
2. Nasal branch of cat: The main symptoms of nasal branch of cat are cough, watery eyes, sneezing, pus in nasal discharge, anorexia, conjunctivitis, dyspnea, etc.
3. Feline Calicis disease: The symptoms of Calicis disease are similar to those of feline nasal branch, usually with oral ulcers and increased eye and nasal discharge.

Cats need to be vaccinated against rabies

There is also a risk of getting rabies vaccine when taking cats out and in contact with other cats. Scratching and biting the skin. After a person is infected with rabies, the patient will experience nausea, headache, and general malaise in the prodromal stage, and the mortality rate of rabies in the later stage is 100%. Now the regular pet hospital is free of charge for rabies vaccine, so it is necessary to take rabies vaccine even for domestic cats.

Cautions for vaccinations in cats

1. Cats are Do not take a bath for two weeks before and after the injection, to avoid the inability to inject the vaccine or the ineffectiveness of the vaccine due to the weakened immunity caused by the cold.

2. After the vaccination, the cat will have low-grade fever, lethargy, loss of appetite, etc. This is a normal reaction of the body, and it will recover in a few days.

3. Some cats may have allergies when taking the cat triple combination. After the first injection, they should be observed in the hospital for half an hour. If there is difficulty in breathing and facial swelling I’m going to notify the doctor about an allergy shot.
