Therefore, pet owners should change the water in the turtle box on time (once every 3-5 days); at the same time, an oxygen pump can be installed in the turtle box to ensure sufficient oxygen in the water they live in.
3. Foreign body stuck in throat
If the tortoise eats something When he stopped, he would subconsciously stretch his neck to swallow, trying to swallow the foreign object. Therefore, if the pet owner sees that the turtle frequently stretches its neck and swallows, it is necessary to observe whether there is any other abnormality or directly take the turtle to the hospital to check whether its throat is stuck by a foreign object, and let the veterinarian help to remove it.
4. Sick
The tortoise always stretches its neck and still May be caused by illness. The pet owner needs to observe whether the turtle has other abnormal symptoms. If the turtle has symptoms such as lethargy, decreased appetite, and foaming at the mouth, it may be that the turtle has pneumonia. If this is the case, the first thing the pet owner has to do is to keep the sick turtle in isolation, and then use amoxicillin or azithromycin to treat it in a water bath, and soak it in water once a day. Usually, the turtle gets better in about a week.
